Groups Etiquette
While it isn't absolutely necessary to observe all of the following suggestions, if you do practice good etiquette in posting to a Yahoo Group (or any other list), you are more likely to get the help you need and more likely to have your posts respected by other members of the Group.
Some of these links will take you to other sites.
- Trim your posts! This is important for two main reasons. Some people are on plans that charge by the minute and it sure makes a post easier to read if all the 'junk' is trimmed out.
- Use 'shorter' links! If you copy and paste a link to a site, it may break. Some folks won't know how to 'fix' the long link.
- Don't 'cross post'! This is something most techs absolutely hate!
- Don't Change the Subject and Other Stuff These are pretty much self explanatory.
- Last but not least, Why You Could get Banned by a Yahoo Group.
These are just a few of the many places available on the Internet that provide hints and help about Yahoo Groups. Always follow the rules for a Group. Every Group has a set of rules that must be followed. The rules are put into place by the Group owner to ensure the Group is a well run and helpful source of information.
As most know there are many Groups and lists on the Internet. There are Groups and lists for almost any subject. However most of the same general list etiquette applies to any list.
