Don't Change the Subject, Please!

Sometimes folks will reply to an email and the content has nothing to with the post in the subject. This is not a good idea as it can lead to confusion and since it has nothing to do with the previous post may well be ignored. This is called 'hijacking a post' and certainly isn't fair to the original poster.

Other times people will reply to posts and change the subject line. This is not a good idea either, as it will cause Yahoo to 'lose' the thread. This means if someone is trying to find messages in the archives (older posts) the thread is lost and any messages with the changed subject will not show in Yahoo Search. Some of our members use a threaded reader and changing the subject line will cause the thread to be lost.

So if you want to post a new message to the Group, use the correct way by clicking 'Post' in the message section on the sidebar if you are posting on the web or select new/compose email if you are receiving downloaded messages to your email client.

Sometimes folks are slow to read posts, either because life keeps interfering or they just forget.  When they do read posts, they may reply to a message that was posted weeks ago. While we don't want to discourage anyone from replying to posts, this practice can and often does, lead to some confusion. Try to keep your replies current if possible.
